Plain-English definitions for the terminology used across Pitch Notes.
- Accumulator (Acca)
- A single bet that links multiple selections together; all must win for the bet to pay out, and the winnings increase with each correct pick.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap that splits the bet into two separate bets, eliminating the draw and reducing the number of possible outcomes.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money you have set aside for betting.
- Bonus
- Extra funds or free bets offered by a betting site, often subject to conditions before withdrawal.
- Both Teams to Score (BTTS)
- A bet on whether each side will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or reducing a loss based on the current odds.
- Correct Score
- A bet that requires predicting the exact final score of the match.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes (home win/draw, away win/draw, or either side winning) in one wager.
- Draw No Bet
- A bet where you win if your chosen team wins, and you get your stake back if the match ends in a draw.
- European Handicap
- A handicap that gives one team a whole‑number advantage, but the draw is still a possible result.
- First Goal Scorer
- A bet on which player will score the first goal in the game.
- Free Bet
- A bet you can place without using your own money; any winnings are usually paid out, but the free bet stake is not returned.
- Live Betting
- Placing bets on a match while it is in progress, with odds that update as the game unfolds.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win the match, with odds that reflect each team's chance of winning.
- Odds
- The numbers that show how likely a particular outcome is and how much you can win if your bet is correct.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals (or points) in a match will be higher or lower than a set line.
- Parlay
- A bet that combines two or more individual bets into one; all selections must win for a payout.
- Payout
- The total amount of money you receive when a bet wins, including the original stake and profit.
- RTP
- The percentage of total money wagered on a game that is returned to players over time, indicating the game's expected payout.
- Single Bet
- A straightforward bet on a single outcome, with the stake placed on one selection.
- Spread
- A points advantage given to the underdog, so the favorite must win by more than that number for the bet to pay out.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a particular bet.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered by the bookmaker are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving an expected edge to the bettor.
- Volatility
- A measure of how much a game's payouts vary in size and frequency; high volatility means bigger but less frequent wins.
- Wagering Requirement
- The number of times you must bet a bonus amount before you can withdraw any related winnings.
